Hawk Nest

Hawk Nest

Exciting Discovery

Upon observing a pair of red-shouldered hawks nesting on the property, we cordoned off a protected area around the nest tree.

We left in place the nest tree and a cluster of surrounding vegetation to ensure the nest tree was protected. Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission personnel visited the property and concurred that all necessary measures were being taken to protect the nest and nesting pair.

In the meantime, we'll be keeping a close eye on the nest and hope to see the fledglings take flight sometime in the next three to six weeks. We'll be sure and keep you posted on their progress.
